Requirements
  • Proven previous experience in the Senior Management role.
  • Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification or other cloud-related certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of deploying web and service-based applications in K8s, Windows/Linux environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security and automation best practices.
  • Proven leadership as a project leader or as a subject matter expert
  • The ability to coordinate project activities of team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work efficiently on multiple concurrent projects and meet project deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Clear and concise communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Presentation and mentoring skills
  • The ability to collaborate and work with IT and with various development teams.
  • Typically requires 10 or more years of experience.
Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain critical cloud policies regarding Security, Cloud Governance, Disaster Recovery, Shared Responsibility, Acceptable Use, Data Retention
  • Building successful vendor partnerships will be key to driving Fortra cloud value and support.
  • Partner with security to design and lead state-of-the-art technical solutions on cloud infrastructure that address business requirements for scalability, reliability, security, automation, and performance.
  • Lead operational engineering and FinOps activities which include automation, observability, infrastructure as code with GitOps practices.
  • Agile and DevOps principles are fundamental practices to lead our teams effectively.
  • Provide an on-call rotation team that responds to 3rd level escalations to assist engineering and security teams.
  • This role is strategic by building road maps and implementation plans but also, tactically managing day to day customer request expectations.
  • Lead cloud strategy discussions, and decisions on overall cloud design and best approach for implementing cloud solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a broad group of stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage workloads, expectations, and communication of progress between staff and upper management.
  • Manage employee’s performance, time off requests, one to one meetings, quarterly check-ins, goals, and growth opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to employees, contractors, facilitate teamwork, provide guidance, and motivate & recognize staff.
  • Help identify and address staff training needs.
  • Work with senior management and HR to recruit new staff.
  • Ensure procedures are followed by staff members.
