eBay operates as an online marketplace where individuals and businesses can buy and sell a wide variety of products, including electronics, cars, fashion, and collectibles. The platform allows users to list items for sale, either through auction-style listings where buyers can place bids or through a 'Buy It Now' option for immediate purchase at a fixed price. eBay connects millions of buyers and sellers globally, catering to individual consumers looking for deals, small businesses wanting to expand their reach, and large companies looking to sell excess inventory. What sets eBay apart from its competitors is its extensive product selection, user-friendly interface, and strong buyer and seller protections. The company aims to provide a seamless shopping experience while generating revenue primarily through transaction fees, advertising, and subscription services for sellers.
