Responsibilities
  • Represent company products to physicians and healthcare professionals, establish product sales, and perform total territory account management.
  • Provide disease information and product education to medical professionals and external customers involved in patient care.
  • Achieve assigned sales objectives through patient-centered disease and product education for healthcare professionals while adhering to corporate compliance guidelines.
  • Implement marketing-plan goals through execution of a strategic account business plan.
  • Use available resources and programs, including peer-to-peer education and cross-functional company partners, to address identified knowledge gaps.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders within the geographic coverage area and assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Develop and maintain high-level disease and therapeutic clinical and scientific knowledge.
  • Execute compliant account-management activities with appropriate documentation and reporting.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred; a graduate business or healthcare-related degree is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in biotechnology, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare disease sales.
  • At least 3 years of rare disease or orphan drug experience; ultra-orphan and rare disease launch experience are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in immunology, rheumatology, or gastroenterology.
  • At least 3 years of in-office injection or infusion sales involving a medical-benefit product requiring extensive coordination with patient access services.
  • Experience operating in a matrix selling environment with patient services, market access, medical affairs, and reimbursement teams, with significant focus on patient centricity.
  • Experience in market development or deep profiling in rare, unmet-disease spaces.
