  • Requires B.S. Degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience (in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university)
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret clearance to start the program
  • Technical knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas: BAN/LAN/WLAN/WAN, cross domain solutions, communications security, and piers connectivity networks, designing/architecting
  • Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience in working with DoD networks
  • Travel may be required
  • Security+ or other applicable certification to meet DoD 8570 requirements
Responsibilities
  • Provide solution development and engineering work for networking/transport
  • Participate in the planning of upgrades, replacement, configuration, and maintenance of networking/transport projects
  • Assist in providing engineering solutions that provide secure, effective and efficient operation of systems, architecture, and topology for transport
  • Participate in new and existing IT modernization, expansion, and improvement projects related to transport for the NMCI network
  • Collaborate with technical experts to synthesize solutions related to transport
  • Participate in the analysis, review, and validation with customers, stakeholders, and team members for NMCI projects and changes related to transport
  • Comply with ITSM processes and procedures, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance, and Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239
  • Support development and maintenance of engineering processes, checklists, and procedures for transport
