Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Four years of relevant Windows systems administration experience.
  • Three years of experience installing patches, performing system updates, managing server and storage processing strategies, and providing a wide range of systems administration functions.
  • IAT Level II certification is required.
  • Must currently hold a security clearance at the minimum Secret level.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and support daily operational requirements of computer network systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
  • Serve as a network subject matter expert as a leader or contributor with other network subject matter experts to improve network efficiency and security and implement technical upgrades.
  • Install hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, and network security; design, interface, and update web pages; and maintain local system design documentation.
  • Maintain Cyber Workforce directives and keep them up to date with respect to certifications.
  • Upgrade, maintain, and optimize existing network infrastructure.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection services.
  • Train staff on applicable software, assist customers with information technology, monitor hardware and software system configuration, and provide instruction on computers and applications.
  • Answer questions about installation, operation, configuration, and customization.
  • Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions to correct common failures.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues encountered by users.
  • Support Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and specialty engineering and scientific development tools.
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, and evaluate and install patches to resolve software-related issues and Information Assurance Vulnerabilities.
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring the organizational mailbox to ensure users receive timely support in response to assistance requests.
  • Maintain and develop information technology procedures required to support the organization.
  • Work with the organization's Information Systems Security Officer to achieve system accreditation.
  • Recommend future information technology needs of the organization.
  • Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in preparing a monthly progress and status report.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
