Requirements
  • An earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information technology as appropriate to the program; or an earned related or out-of-field master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in at least two specified areas; or an earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a related field with documentation in at least two specified areas.
  • For the related or out-of-field master's-degree route, documentation must include at least two of the following: professional certification in the field; two years of in-field professional employment; documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence including the date of award; research and publication in the field; or relevant additional information technology coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, continuing education units, vendor, or military coursework.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
  • Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi.
  • Use available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required records.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that positively impact student learning and their experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner and comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, laboratories, and learning environments.
  • Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
