Standard Nuclear, Inc. designs, engineers, and manufactures TRISO fuel for next‑generation reactors. Its TRISO fuel uses uranium kernels encased in multiple ceramic and carbon layers to withstand extreme temperatures, and the company operates a toll‑manufacturing model where customers supply the uranium feedstock and Standard Nuclear converts it into finished fuel. Unlike many competitors, it does not own reactors and relies on a reactor‑agnostic production line in Oak Ridge, backed by privately funded IP and institutional investors. The company aims to support the growth of SMRs, microreactors, and other advanced systems by providing a reliable, scalable fuel supply that enhances decarbonization, energy security, and defense applications.

What believers are saying

  • August 2026 backlog reached $576.9 million after Radiant and Antares agreements.
  • Q2 2026 revenue rose to $4.7 million, and IPO cash reached $239.9 million.
  • Construction finished at Tennessee and Idaho plants, adding up to five MTU capacity.

What critics are saying

  • SN-TN and SN-ID target Q4 2026 authorization; NRC slippage delays revenue.
  • Radiant and Antares concentrate backlog; any reactor delay hits Standard Nuclear immediately.
  • A nuclear safety incident would freeze TRISO adoption and destroy customer demand.

What makes Standard Nuclear unique

  • Standard Nuclear operates the only independent U.S. industrial-scale TRISO fuel line.
  • Its reactor-agnostic toll model sells fuel fabrication, not reactor ownership.
  • Oak Ridge SN-0 and Framatome’s Richland JV create domestic manufacturing depth.

Standard Nuclear shares jump 4.45% after binding TRISO fuel supply deal with Radiant

Standard Nuclear's shares rose 4.45% to $14.31 following a binding TRISO fuel supply agreement with Radiant Industries. The deal covers multiple metric tons of fuel for Kaleidos microreactors through 2031. The stock has gained 10.33% over seven days and 89.79% over 30 days. Recent fuel contracts and a new board appointment have driven this momentum. However, a DCF valuation model estimates Standard Nuclear's fair value at $9.42, suggesting the stock is overvalued by nearly $5 per share at current levels. The company reported a $14.97 million loss on $3.36 million revenue, with a market capitalisation of $2.20 billion. The valuation gap raises questions about whether the TRISO contract pipeline is already fully priced into the shares.
