LandingAI has always been a Visual AI company solving vision problems. We treat documents as visual artifacts and have taken on the challenge of systematically solving problems within the document understanding space. Overall, we are building foundational infrastructure for developers to extract information from their images and documents.

Our roots:

1. An early pioneer in Agentic AI, which we have applied in practice with Agentic Document Extraction (ADE).

2. Our LandingLens product, which has helped healthcare, finance, legal, and manufacturing teams address their visual AI challenges, maturing us in data-centric practices.

3. A vision-first approach, now applied to building our in-house foundation models.

What You’ll Do:

Work directly with senior ML engineers to design ML solutions. These can involve agentic workflows or creating custom models.
Iterate ML solutions to production-level quality
Source and curate high quality data for training models
Work closely with the labeling team to manage data-centric workflows

What We’re Looking For:

Strong ML foundations and experience:
Experienced (3+ years) in ML solution design through solving real world, complex problems
Strong grasp of ML fundamentals, modeling, and algorithm design (not just taking things off the shelf from open source)
Strong computer vision background (Vision Transformers, CNNs, etc)
Hands-on experience with utilizing LLMs programmatically in a fashion well-aligned with their strengths and weaknesses, especially in agentic workflows

Data-centric obsession:
Experienced with the data-centric approach, including model evaluation and error analysis
Very strong attention to detail, meticulous
Willing to do the dirty work (data-centric, labeling, fixing, etc)
Strong data analysis skills

Other:
Good communicator
Strong customer focus to understand requirements to solve the core problem
Good coding skills (for purposes of communicating ideas clearly)
Experienced with PyTorch

To be successful at LandingAI, you will have to fit well with our LandingAI Principles. Please take the time to read and understand them as they define who we are and what we look for in our candidates. This is a hybrid role. You are expected to come to our office in Mountain View, CA at least 3 days a week.

Note: LandingAI provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on work location, as well as the knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
