Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of experience in this discipline
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Microstation, ERMS, and INDOT programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation of critical issues
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team that may consist of engineers and technicians. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior-level engineers and other team members to aid in their professional development. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment among your team.
  • Serve as a project manager for roadway/highway design projects, overseeing and participating in project execution from initiation to completion. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Perform quality checks on work performed by project team members. Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major projects. Prepare project documents, design, conduct analyses, interpret data, and plan and coordinate the engineering work to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings and specifications. Serve as a technical expert in this discipline. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement measures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of service, communication, and client satisfaction. Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and assist with business development. Prepare proposals and/or funding applications.
  • May perform other duties associated with this role.
