Requirements
  • B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering
  • a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in satellite communications
  • Strong exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards like DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2
  • Hands on experience using RF test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, satellite channel emulator)
  • Strong Understanding of Linux, IP and Routing Protocols
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performance
  • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliers
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
Responsibilities
  • Issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat Lightspeed system
  • Develop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirements
  • Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reporting
  • Serve as a SATCOM or Networking Subject Matter Expert and support other technical staff as required
  • Develop/maintain test cases, test beds required for various Test cases
  • Hands on testing in the LEO Lab for various data path and routing features
  • Work with other segments like DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite and foster a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Play an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities
  • Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer and traffic generators
  • Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements
  • Work with partners and other vendors to lead various test campaigns

  • Experience with various traffic generators like Ixia, Spirent
  • Highly collaborative team player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammates
  • Experience in MEF standards
  • Proficient with MATLAB, Python
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Automation experience with programming languages like Python
