Requirements
  • A high school diploma or state-recognized equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment is required.
  • Knowledge of security equipment systems, including intrusion detection, assessment, and access control, is required.
  • Ability to install and maintain alarms, access control, and assessment system devices is required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently is required.
  • Experience installing door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks is required.
  • Ability to obtain required state low-voltage or security licenses as required is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and interact with employees, subcontractors, and customers is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and act as a self-starter and quick learner is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform security system installations, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and demolition tasks.
  • Manage all aspects of access control and IP camera products and systems installed at client sites.
  • Independently install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic devices, power supplies, and network components.
  • Install access control and IP camera systems according to engineered drawings.
  • Identify and resolve issues that negatively impact job productivity.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Communicate activity to the Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the company-provided vehicle.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and report incidents or near misses to management immediately.
  • Attend required product or safety training.
  • Read and understand drawings and equipment schematics.
  • Provide direction and leadership for system installations.
  • Install and program intrusion alarms, access control, and IP video systems.
  • Provide updates to the Project Manager and customers.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform necessary corrections to security systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certifications in Lenel or Software House access control are preferred.
  • Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, or Exacq are preferred.
