Requirements
  • The candidate must be able to fully purge welds for full penetration and prevent burn-through.
  • The candidate must be able to weld materials with wall thicknesses as thin as 0.005 inch.
  • The candidate must know blueprints, welding specifications, properties of metals including exotic metals and new alloys, gases, welding rods, fluxes, and purging chambers.
  • Previous experience in a professional welding position is required.
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to produce full-penetration purge welds while preventing burn-through.
  • The candidate must have thorough knowledge of drawing reading and interpretation; welding specifications, procedures, and techniques; properties of metals including exotic metals and new alloys; welding gases, rods, and fluxes; purging methods and purging chambers; and nondestructive inspection requirements.
  • The candidate must successfully complete required pre-employment testing.
  • The candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends, off-shifts, and other flexible hours as needed to support production and maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Fuse metal parts of all types and thicknesses, including exotic metals, using an electric welding apparatus.
  • Weld products to meet inspection techniques and nondestructive inspection standards, including radiography and fluorescent penetrant inspection, using purging chambers.
  • Perform all types of welds in all positions using heliarc and metallic arc processes.
  • Assist in developing new and improved welding and joining techniques.
  • Set up and lay out assemblies, including highly complex multiple-plane assemblies.
  • Set up work for LG 6 and lower-graded welders, including work on automatic welding equipment.
  • Train lower-grade employees on welding processes, specifications, and techniques.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision.

Senior plc awarded multi year Airbus contract for aerospace components. Senior plc (LON:SNR), an international manufacturer of high technology components and systems, has announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by Airbus for the design, qualification and manufacture of various highly engineered Aerospace Standard parts for fluid conveyance applications. The initial production will supply components for both dual and single aisle commercial aircraft platforms, with significant further potential in the spares and repairs markets. Delivery will begin in Q1 2026, from Senior's facilities in Europe. This contract highlights Senior's expertise in designing and producing complex, highly engineered, aerospace components, as well as its ability to secure major business with leading airframers. This award reinforces Senior's strong and extensive experience in product design and qualification, and continued investment in advanced manufacturing technologies. These new product lines will further enhance Senior's capabilities in pressed, formed, and highly engineered standard components. Commenting on the award, Launie Fleming, CEO of Senior Aerospace: "Our teams in Europe have been working hard to develop and qualify these highly engineered standard parts that have multiple applications across the commercial aircraft business of Airbus.
