Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance prior to starting.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • At least three years of hands-on, directly applicable experience implementing systems such as UNIX and Microsoft Windows.
  • Experience designing, obtaining equipment and software, installing, integrating, and testing systems in the required environment.
  • Understanding of applications and application software such as Oracle, Relativity, and web hosting.
  • At least one year of experience setting up large-scale database management applications using applicable database management software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows.
  • Experience in storage technology planning, performance capacity planning and modeling, applications planning, human factors issues, distributed processing, and business process analysis.
  • At least six months of experience at the specific installation being administered.
  • In-depth knowledge of government IT environments, including office automation networks and personal computer- and server-based databases and applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of government security requirements, including NIST, E-Gov, FIPS, FISMA, and DOJ regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Keep systems and services operational by monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing server and system performance; performing scheduled system backups; assigning user IDs and passwords; allocating and tracking disk space; supporting and advising IT users responsible for applications and databases; identifying and ordering supplies, hardware, software, and accessories; and performing hardware and software upgrades.
  • Implement and enforce system, facility, and data security measures, including patch management, security reporting, and disaster recovery resources and procedures.
  • Administer hardware, operating system software, database software, and other applications software.
  • Coordinate with the Contracting Officer's Representative and DOJ technical staff on system and application issues, and coordinate with DOJ office automation network administration staff on DOJ office automation network issues.
  • Report on progress.
  • Develop tools for system-wide use in application development and prepare system documentation.
  • For moderately sized systems, take responsibility for the entire installation.
  • For large-scale systems, assist and back up the Senior System Administrator.
Desired Qualifications
  • CNE certification is highly desirable.
  • Litigation support experience is helpful.
  • Proven management skills are preferred.
  • An undergraduate degree is preferred, preferably in computer science or management information/technology.
