  • US citizenship is required.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
  • Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
  • Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state security guard license.
  • Ability to walk through all areas of the facility for tours and compliance inspections in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations.
  • Ability to work without restrictions and limitations.
  • Ability to greet and deal tactfully and professionally with the general public.
  • Capability of following and interpreting/understanding written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and can compose written and oral reports.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment: courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through his/her responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain poise and self-control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress such as disturbances, altercations, fires, and building evacuations.
  • Maintain current/physical residency in the continental United States.
  • Must be able to lift heavy object up to 50lbs frequently and up to 70lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to push a wheelchair bound individual weighing up to 300 lbs and helping individual in and out of chair.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twisting, reaching overhead and climb stairs, ladders and slopes periodically.
  • Strictly maintain physical fitness standards for law enforcement related position throughout your employment under this contract.
Responsibilities
  • Conducts a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer.
  • Inventory all equipment and notate the results in the logbook.
  • Receives all authorized equipment and ensure that it is in proper working condition.
  • Ensures that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery.
  • Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required in the contract.
  • Exercises surveillance and control over detainees and maintains order and discipline.
  • Attends to housing, feeding, and the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day.
  • Make official entries in the assigned post logbooks that are legible and complete.
  • Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility.
  • Provides care, custody and control of detainees.
  • Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures.
  • Guard's detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care and when and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies.
  • Successfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and course requiring a minimum physical stamina.
  • Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies.
