As a Team Lead for the Composites Shop, you will oversee the fabrication and assembly of composite components critical to our electric aircraft. This involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring adherence to quality and production standards, and collaborating across departments to meet project goals. You will contribute to advancing sustainable aerospace technology through your expertise and leadership.

- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of composite components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for composite fabrication processes, emphasizing safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize manufacturing workflows.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance technical skills and ensure consistent application of best practices.
- Monitor production schedules and resource allocation to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Drive process improvements and innovation, including the adoption of advanced composite manufacturing techniques and materials.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations throughout the production process.
- Track, analyze and improve on KPI’s for cost, quality, on time and productivity
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in composites fabrication or manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in aerospace or electric vehicle industries.
- Strong understanding of composite materials, fabrication methods, and assembly processes.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility in manufacturing practices.
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or advanced certifications.
- Experience with automated composite manufacturing equipment or advanced layup techniques.
- Hands-on experience with lightweight structures and high-performance composite materials.
- Knowledge of digital manufacturing tools, including MES and ERP systems.
- Expertise in sustainability practices and lifecycle analysis within composites manufacturing.
