Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience managing the implementation and support of a technical solution through the full software development life cycle, including leadership demonstrated through formal or informal leadership that shows knowledge of work processes, products and services, and leadership competencies
  • Demonstrated planning and implementation skills
  • Ability to apply job-specific skills to make value-added contributions that align with evolving business strategies
  • Consultative and analytical skills to lead the team to appropriate decisions and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to express complex concepts clearly and concisely in writing and verbally; experience in managing and analyzing complex information
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate others who are direct reports as well as those from other divisions and departments, including change management, creating a sense of urgency and teachable points of view
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize excellent time management
  • Experience in health or financial services industry technology
  • Strong knowledge of systems, products and infrastructure, including all aspects of information technology for an organization of similar size, and applicable technology trends
  • Knowledge of state and federal health care regulations
  • Travel required up to 5 percent
  • Proficiency in Human Resources Organizational Roles (HROR) highly preferred
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and product team members supporting the Market Solutions Large Group and Portfolio product teams in defining and delivering health insurance products
  • Ensure accurate product configuration, rating, and documentation to support compliant and scalable product offerings
  • Focus on improving the overall experience of doing business with Wellmark by enabling efficient data extracts, streamlining renewals, and simplifying new group onboarding
  • Lead and direct cross-functional technology teams through the full solution lifecycle—planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support—to deliver software systems and vendor solutions that advance Wellmark’s strategic initiatives
  • Ensure delivered capabilities align with enterprise architecture standards and quality expectations and provide strong production support and operational stability
  • Identify and influence opportunities to modernize technology and improve processes to reduce cost, elevate service, mitigate risk, and strengthen competitive advantage
  • Develop and mentor application staff, building both business acumen and technical capability across the organization

Knoxville Community School District receives Grant from The Wellmark Foundation to bring new mental and Behavioral Health services to students. * Posted By: Clayton Sampson * January 15, 2026 @ 4:46 am * Today's Local News The Knoxville Community School District has received a grant from The Wellmark Foundation to bring new mental and behavioral health services to students. The Knoxville Community School District announced that beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, students will have access to in-person therapy and Classroom Clinic, a telehealth service that connects families, schools and mental health professionals to provide personalized mental and behavioral health support for students. "Thanks to the generous support of the Wellmark Foundation, our students will have expanded access to high-quality behavioral health services that meet them where they are - both in person at school and through telehealth," said Superintendent Cassi Pearson. " This grant allows us to strengthen proactive supports, build healthy habits, and equip students with the skills they need to manage challenges, succeed academically, and thrive both in and beyond the classroom." Classroom Clinic, a school-based telehealth company, collaborates with school districts to provide timely and convenient access to youth mental health care. Its services include telepsychiatry, provided by Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, and teletherapy, from licensed mental health counselors. By introducing in-person therapy and Classroom Clinic, students at West and Northstar can access services for their mental and behavioral health similar to how they can visit the school nurse for physical health care. The new mental and behavioral health services are possible, in part, by a three-year School-Centered Behavioral Health Grant from The Wellmark Foundation. The Wellmark Foundation's School-Centered Behavioral Health Grant is available for eligible rural Iowa schools that want to establish lasting mental and behavioral health services for Iowa youth.
