Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as an Industrial Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Product Manager, or similar role within the product design or manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of design principles, engineering concepts, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret design intent and translate it into functional and manufacturable product designs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and analytically
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques, and prototyping methods
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality designs that exceed expectations
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Advanced degree or +10 years of experience in a similar field
- Experience and working knowledge of equipment certification (i.e. UL, ETL, TUV, etc…)
- Familiarity with design analysis tools and techniques (e.g. FEA, tolerance analysis)
- Familiarity with electric vehicle charging
- Pilot's license
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and customers to translate design concepts into detailed engineering specifications
- Develop 2D and 3D CAD models, and prototypes using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks) to visualize and communicate design and engineering intent
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure the technical viability and manufacturability of product designs
- Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs) for production
- Perform design analyses, such as stress, tolerance, and thermal analyses, to validate product performance and reliability
- Conduct research on emerging materials, manufacturing processes, and design trends to integrate innovative solutions into product development
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for efficient production and address any design-related issues during manufacturing
- Participate in design reviews, providing technical insights and recommendations to improve design concepts
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements throughout the design process
