Requirements
  • Have 3+ years of quota-carrying account executive experience.
  • Preferably selling infrastructure, developer tools, cloud services, or technical software-as-a-service to engineering-driven organizations.
  • Are a true hunter who loves net-new logo acquisition, building territory, and finding creative paths into high-growth companies.
  • Know how to sell to engineering and technical buyers and are credible in deeply technical conversations and understand CI/CD, cloud optimization, DevOps workflows, or similar domains.
  • Operate with a builder's mindset and want to influence how a sales motion is developed, not just follow one.
  • Use modern sales methodologies and have experience with MEDDICC, Challenger, command of the message, or similar frameworks.
  • Communicate with clarity and confidence, able to simplify complex infrastructure narratives and tailor them to founders, platform teams, or chief technology officers.
  • Move fast, follow up relentlessly, and enjoy the chase because Digital Native buyers expect speed.
Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue across a large Digital Native territory by prospecting, identifying, qualifying, and closing net-new opportunities.
  • Run a structured, value-driven sales process from first outbound to close and handoff.
  • Multithread across individual contributors, engineering leadership, platform teams, DevOps, and chief executive officers.
  • Own end-to-end pipeline generation by building your own pipeline through outbound, targeted campaigns, and creative prospecting.
  • Leverage product signals, usage patterns, and founder/venture capital networks to identify high-potential accounts.
  • Sell a deeply technical product by partnering with solution engineers to run technical discovery, demos, and proofs of concept.
  • Understand CI workloads, cloud cost architecture, competitive alternatives, and performance-based differentiation.
  • Navigate engineering-centric buying motions with a consultative, value-driven approach.
  • Develop and present persuasive value propositions tailored to engineering leaders and founders.
  • Negotiate software as a service and infrastructure contracts with procurement and technical stakeholders.
  • Forecast accurately and manage a high-velocity pipeline with discipline.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product to inform roadmap decisions, provide market feedback to refine messaging, positioning, and playbooks, and help define and evolve our Digital Native go-to-market motion as an early team member.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling into Digital Native or startup ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with product-led growth adjacent signals, cloud economics, or continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Entrepreneurial background (side projects, early-stage startups, etc.).
  • Ability to build repeatable processes from scratch.

What does the company do? Blacksmith provides a drop-in replacement for GitHub Actions runners that uses high-performance gaming CPUs to speed up builds and tests, helping teams run CI/CD workflows faster and more cost-effectively. How does it work? It acts as a substitute for standard runners in GitHub Actions, leveraging powerful CPUs in a cloud environment to accelerate compilation, testing, and automation tasks, with pricing based on usage. How is it different from competitors? Its focus on high performance hardware aimed specifically at CI workloads and a usage-based pricing model aims to lower overall CI/CD costs compared to GitHub’s native runners, appealing to teams seeking faster feedback loops and predictable expenses. What is its goal? To help software development teams optimize their CI/CD workflows, reduce build times, and cut operational costs.
