Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of implementing and executing data ingestion services
- Experience managing priorities and driving Agile ceremonies
- Exposure to leading a team of talented engineers, while implementing and fostering a positive culture
- Experience interacting with clients and external stakeholders to facilitate data requests and transmissions
- An ability to investigate and resolve production issues
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related major, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to write well-documented, reusable, and testable code
- Professional Experience with Mirth (NextGen) or similar ETL services and data pipelines
- Experience with Cloud integration with AWS and/or GCP
- 3+ years of experience in working with data pipelines, data storage, and software services
- 3+ years experience working with SQL and relational databases
- 3+ years experience working with a backend programming language like Python, Java, Scala, etc
- Understanding of data intake, mapping, normalization, and storage
- Proficiency in distributed version control systems such as git
- Clear and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Preparing and delivering presentations
- Writing documentation (technical and non-technical)
- Service orientation toward customers (both internal and external)
- Ability to collaborate with peers and other senior / principal engineers. Ability to solve technical and business problems collaboratively
- Provide opportunities for people to learn to work together as a team. Recognize and promote behaviors that contribute to teamwork
- Ability to communicate effectively on requirements and set expectations accordingly
- Effective time management based on business priorities
Responsibilities
- Understand the function of our DAI (Data Acquisition and Intake) team and the projects it's responsible for
- Begin to make direct contributions to the DAI code base
- Get to know the DAI team members and their strengths and weaknesses
- Start to build relationships with external partners
- Begin to understand company priorities, and apply them to DAI team priorities
- Make significant contributions to the DAI codebase
- Begin to delegate team tasks and responsibilities
- Be performing deep data analysis and discovery
- Making complex contributions to the DAI codebase autonomously
- Working with product to define team priorities
- Triaging, debugging, and repairing production issues
- Mentoring the DAI engineers
- An autonomous leader of the DAI team
- Helping set the strategic direction of COTA engineering
- Collaborating with other engineering leaders to improve our products and architecture
- Working with product to define and scope new products
