- An associate's program or technical school degree in engineering principles, or a suitable combination of education and work experience, is required.
- Experience with computer software, file management, electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics, and hydraulics is helpful.
- A clean and valid driver's license and driving record must be maintained.
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair TRUMPF computer numerical control machines while building and developing strong customer relationships.
- Work closely with customers and machines to ensure equipment operates within expected tolerance.
- Work with Product Support for technical assistance and provide diagnostic feedback.
- Use visual clues, computer programs, and diagnostic tools to diagnose machine difficulties.
- Read and use company repair manuals and work orders to support repairs, and suggest adjustments or updates to existing technical documentation when needed.
- Assemble, install, and align equipment; clean machinery; and replace or install parts to maintain smooth operation.
- Accurately report technical conditions and machine information to Product Support Group and management.
- Interface with cross-functional teams including applications, sales, engineering, and production.
- Provide onsite customer training for machine operation and repair.
- Submit organized and helpful service reports for each repair mission.

TRUMPF expands its laser cutting portfolio with the acquisition of Cutlite See translation
German high-tech supplier Trumpf is acquiring 80% of Italian laser cutting machine manufacturer Cutlite Penta from parent company El.En for approximately €21 million. El.En will retain a 20% shareholding for several years. Cutlite, based in Prato with 190 employees, specialises in custom-built large-format cutting machines using high-power lasers. The deal involves an initial payment of roughly €13 million at closing, with the remainder determined by December 2029 financial statements. Cutlite will operate as an independent brand, maintaining its manufacturing, sales, and service facilities. Trumpf plans to enhance Cutlite's capabilities to expand its sheet metal fabrication offerings. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
TRUMPF to acquire Cutlite Penta S.p.A. With the planned acquisition of Cutlite Penta S.p.A., TRUMPF is expanding its portfolio in large-format and high-power laser cutting, especially for customized applications and oversized tube systems. "This partnership enables us to expand our market presence, leverage combined strengths, and drive industry-leading innovation in fiber laser cutting technology while maintaining the established customer relationships and service quality that define both organizations," said Tom Schneider, CTO at TRUMPF Machine Tools. The brand, its manufacturing in Italy, and its service expertise will continue, backed by the global TRUMPF network. Closing is expected in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
