What You’ll Do

• Lead and maintain a comprehensive Industrial Hygiene (IH) program to protect workers from chemical, biological, physical, and ergonomic hazards.
   
• Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control workplace hazards in compliance with 10 CFR 851 and applicable standards.
   
• Provide IH consultation and support to DOE, contractors, and medical professionals under the Site Occupational Medical Contractor (SOMC).
   
• Manage and support programs including HAZCOM, medical surveillance, PPE use and selection, heat stress prevention, and special emphasis programs (Beryllium and Legacy Health).
   
• Conduct and oversee investigations, exposure monitoring, and hazard assessments to ensure safe workplace practices.
   
• Collaborate with medical and epidemiology teams to design and interpret studies and integrate health-protective measures.
   
• Participate in emergency response planning and support workforce complaint investigations.
   

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, or a closely related scientific field.  
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing.  
• Experience in chemical, decommissioning/demolition (D&D), or nuclear industrial settings.  
• Expertise in evaluating workplaces with potential exposures to chemical substances/mixtures.  
• U.S. Citizenship or National status, with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance.  

Desired:

• Knowledge of beryllium exposure evaluation and controls.  
• Radiation safety experience/training.  
• Background in occupational medicine clinic environments.  
• Supervisory or team leadership experience in industrial hygiene initiatives.
