Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate team member activities to meet production goals while maintaining quality in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Coordinate operations and activities within or between departments with other supervisors.
  • Schedule and assign personnel, establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, and resolve production problems.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate production estimates and outputs.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise employee results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances with management or subordinates.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, processing variables, control points, equipment, personnel, and resources; implement cost reductions and reporting systems; correct process-control malfunctions; and foster cooperation between departments.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Coach team members, identify developmental needs, and improve their knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operation and work and safety procedures.
  • Maintain and enforce a safe and clean work environment and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Compile, sort, and analyze production performance records and data to determine production requirements and evaluate production estimates and outputs.
  • Use Kronos time and attendance and SAP enterprise resource planning programs to maintain employee attendance, hours worked, efficiencies, and other employee information.
  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, and repair services.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
