Requirements
- Experience in an active PET department with image co-registration knowledge required.
- Associate degree required
- Requires a registered or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, ARRT(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Ohio license to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Ability to work well with physicians, technologists, and all hospital personnel.
- Ability to interact with all patients professionally and with positive attitude.
- Irregular or extended hours with potential weekend, evening, and on-call responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Produce quality work while meeting multiple demands.
Responsibilities
- The PET Technologist performs diagnostic PET procedures using positron emitting radionuclides and through operating sensitive radiation detection equipment (PET or PET/CT scanner) Individual performs under limited supervision. This individual performs PET or hybrid PET/CT scanning procedures in the Positron Emission Tomography section for the Kettering Health System.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Preferred at hire that the technologist has successfully passed the NMTCB-PET exam and remain certified in PET specialty by retaking exam every 7 years based on the requirements set forth by the NMTCB Specialty Board. Certification is required within 24 months of hire if not already obtained.
