Requirements
  • Around 5 years of experience in software development within the networking industry.
  • Proven track record of being a DevOps engineer, worked earlier in a similar networking environment. Hands on having real production-level experience, preferably in core networking domain.
  • Atleast 3 years of hands-on working experience with Docker and Linux-based infrastructures. Very comfortable with GitHub, Jira, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins.
  • Excellent knowledge on how to build applications by using make files, source code management, Maven, Debian images etc. Excellent knowledge on GitHub, build, packaging, installation of SDK components.
  • Hands-on experience in infrastructure development preferably for an embedded system or network operating system (NOS).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Good understanding of monitoring, alerting, logging frameworks, databases including NoSQL databases.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner and a good team member.
Responsibilities
  • In this role, you will be responsible to build and deploy SDK solution, collaborate with engineering teams, technical leads and architects.
  • You will adopt new development tools and infrastructure, manage release engineering activities, CICD pipelines, come up with efficient build mechanisms and accelerate software development process.
  • You'll also be responsible to ensure that the solution built is secured, safe from cyber security threats and meets global and Cisco standards.
  • As you learn the new technologies, you propose new ideas and implement those continuously in the development process.
  • DevOps, Tools and Infra development: Design and development of DevOps components for network operating systems SDK, hardware infrastructure and platform components.
  • Develop and maintain tools that would accelerate software development focusing on Build, packaging, installation of SDK.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure component. Collaborate with hardware teams to enable optimal hardware-software interactions and expose hardware capabilities through standardized interfaces.
  • Write, review, and optimize code for critical system modules, drivers, and APIs supporting high-performance data planes and control planes.
  • System Design: Work with Technical Leader on the technical architecture to develop tools and common infrastructure components.
  • Collaboration & Engagement: Collaborate with product leader and engineering teams to understand use cases, gather requirements, and align deliverables with business objectives.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to accelerate development and testing cycles.
  • Drive code reviews, technical discussions, and issue resolution to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

  • Experience working on technical projects in a complex development environment. Exposure on distributed architecture.
  • Working knowledge of various tools and open-source technologies. Strong will to accelerate agile development process.

Cisco acquires Galileo to strengthen Splunk's AI observability capabilities

Cisco is acquiring Galileo, an AI observability specialist, to strengthen Splunk's position in the AI monitoring market. The deal is expected to close in July 2026. Galileo provides tools to evaluate AI output quality, detect errors before they reach users, and improve AI agent behaviour in production. The platform monitors hallucinations, bias, security risks and cost metrics across the entire agent development lifecycle, offering real-time observability for multi-agent systems. The acquisition will integrate Galileo into Splunk Observability Cloud, expanding existing AI agent monitoring capabilities. Galileo offers over 20 evaluation metrics including hallucination detection and supports major AI platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock. Cisco and Galileo previously collaborated on Cisco's AGNTCY initiative. Both companies will operate independently until the deal closes.

Cisco appoints former Deloitte executive Pete Shimer to board of directors
