The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for the provision of assigned physical therapy services to patients in accordance with the established physician plan of care and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency regulations, policies and procedures. The position requires population-specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year of experience as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, preferably in an acute care or rehabilitation setting

EDUCATION:

• Associate's degree for Physical Therapy Assistant approved by the American Physical Therapy Association

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• PTA (Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written). This job requires the incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Drivers License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.

The Physical Therapy Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assesses patient performance commensurate with their training and qualifications.
• Recommends equipment or alteration to architectural barriers to the therapist of record for their respective discipline.
• Is responsible for therapeutic exercise, functional training related to physical movement and mobility in self-care, home management, community, and work, manual therapy techniques, prescription, application, and fabrication of devices and equipment, airway clearance techniques, wound management, and electrotherapeutic modalities.
• Educates patients and other stakeholders.
• Communicates and documents treatment and appropriate charges for treatment per policy and procedure.
• Acts as clinical instructor and/or assists with orientation of new employees or volunteers.
• The Physical Therapy Assistant reports to the Licensed Physical Therapist.
