Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience, is required.
  • One year of experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • The role requires constant standing and walking, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, data entry, near and distance vision, and hearing and speech for information sharing.
  • The role requires occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, repetitive foot and leg movements, repetitive hand and arm movements, and handling objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires occasional vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • The role requires rare use of smell to detect and recognize odors and rare driving.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare for procedures by performing patient assessments.
  • Assist in setting up extracorporeal devices used for temporary replacement or support of cardiac or pulmonary function.
  • Set up and operate autologous blood processing devices.
  • Set up and operate Platelet-Rich Plasma devices.
  • Set up and operate bone marrow concentration devices.
  • Ensure perfusion packs, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, cell saver equipment, and supplies are available for scheduled and emergency surgeries.
  • Assemble, maintain, clean, and calibrate equipment, and maintain adequate supplies and stocked carts.
  • Document assessments, activities, and procedures properly.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
