Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Seven years of physician/provider services, medical group, or healthcare administration experience, including provider compensation, financial analysis, and physician/advanced practice provider relationship management.
  • Deep experience in provider compensation plan design, incentive administration, and Fair Market Value and benchmarking practices such as SullivanCotter and MGMA.
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and budgeting skills, including provider-level productivity measured by work relative value units and expense performance.
  • Working knowledge of physician and provider network contracting, including employment agreements, memoranda of understanding, Professional Services Agreements, and joint ventures, together with applicable Stark, Anti-Kickback, and Fair Market Value regulatory guardrails.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with and influence physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Political savvy and effectiveness in ambiguous, highly matrixed environments, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and executive presence.
  • Ability to manage a large, multi-specialty clinician network portfolio with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the single point of accountability and concierge-level partner for an assigned network portfolio of approximately 100–150 community physicians and advanced practice providers organized by specialty and region.
  • Own clinician performance, engagement, retention, and productivity while working closely with the community division chief and senior physician leadership.
  • Manage provider compensation plans and administer incentive calculations, including drafting and distributing annual compensation plans and resolving compensation issues.
  • Support compensation model development, benchmarking, and Fair Market Value review in partnership with centralized modeling resources.
  • Own practice- and provider-level financial management and performance optimization across the portfolio, including budgeting, work relative value unit and productivity performance, expense performance, and financial oversight of employed, Professional Services Agreement, and joint-venture arrangements.
  • Manage internal memoranda of understanding and external Professional Services Agreements for clinical services, including contract review, renegotiation, invoicing, clinician payments, and financial modeling.
  • Execute clinician recruitment and ramp-to-productivity in partnership with recruitment, marketing, and senior leadership, ensuring timely onboarding and time-to-productivity.
  • Lead legal, compliance, and issue resolution and clinician performance recovery; serve as liaison across Duke administration, PRMO, DHTS, and external organizations.
  • Partner in strategic planning and project-based work for large initiatives such as the advanced practice provider transformation.
  • Stabilize acquisitions and transition acquired practices to network management, driving operational alignment for growth, access, quality, and sustainability.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a large, multi-specialty group, health system, or academic medical center is preferred.
