Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Education and progress toward an administrative certificate are required; the candidate will work and be paid as teacher-on-assignment until the certificate is finalized.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the overall administration of the school and coordinate activities and operations involving students, teachers, parents, the Director of Operations, and the site principal.
  • Coordinate school-level standardized testing, including NWEA MAP, pre/post testing, Junior High midterms and finals, and related educational technology.
  • Create the COW schedule rotation and troubleshoot technology concerns.
  • Train teachers hired after the start of the school year on school systems, classroom setup, and the new-hire checklist.
  • Confer with teachers, students, and parents about educational and behavioral problems.
  • Act as the school attendance and truancy officer.
  • Create, submit, update, train staff on, and implement the school emergency operations plan.
  • Develop future school leaders.
  • Review weekly lesson plans for special-area and Junior High teachers.
  • Oversee and develop duty and dismissal schedules and create individual support-staff schedules.
  • Collect and review Title I tutor and paraprofessional time-and-effort logs.
  • Oversee student discipline, document incidents, contact parents, and record student reports in PowerSchool or Infinite Campus.
  • Address parent issues and document them accordingly.
  • Schedule, document, and train staff for fire drills, lockdowns, and evacuation procedures.
  • Oversee the McKinney-Vento program.
  • Serve as the district representative for IEP/MET meetings.
  • Follow up on phone calls and emails and attend assigned school events.
  • Create and implement Junior High scheduling.
  • Monitor Legacy ValueProgram implementation, manage points, provide parent notifications, and administer behavior and academic contracts, ISS, and OSS.
  • Oversee Junior High flag ceremonies, LVP day planning, weekly or bi-weekly Junior High team CTM meetings, Junior High parent contact, Word Strides, and the end-of-year Junior High field trip.
  • Schedule athletic games and ensure attendance of the Legacy Traditional Schools designee at home games.
  • Hire and develop coaches.
  • Order, store, and maintain uniforms and athletic equipment.
  • Attend CAA Athletic Director meetings, complete required paperwork, and ensure compliance with CAA requirements, including concussion protocols.
  • Facilitate mandatory seasonal parent meetings, complete grade checks twice monthly, enforce eligibility requirements, communicate with athletic parents, and coordinate end-of-season banquets.
  • Lead Community Education Programs, including LKC, KEEP, non-school days, summer days, and clubs.
  • Work with the Community Education Coordinator when applicable and remain on call for before- or after-school LKC sessions.
  • Create Community Education staff schedules that maintain a 30:1 child-to-staff ratio.
  • Hire, train, and monitor LKC staff and activities.
  • Communicate program updates to LKC staff and Legacy Traditional Schools families.
  • Coordinate with Community Education on family communications regarding registration, scheduling, payments, and account activity.
  • Collect rosters and payments for clubs and vendors, maintain LKC dashboards, and inventory and order materials and supplies.
  • Manage LKC discipline and raise concerns to the Principal.
  • Attend district Community Education meetings.
  • Maintain the school's English Learner list and ensure English Learner testers are dependable, trained, and scheduled with the necessary resources.
  • Ensure newly enrolled English Learner students receive the AZELLA Placement test within 10 days, obtain parent consent, and document testing attempts.
  • Ensure English Learner teachers and tutors are SEI-endorsed.
  • Process consent and withdrawal forms, observe English Learner teachers, and ensure use of SEI strategies.
  • Create and monitor schedules for SEI Targeted and Integrated English Learner instruction.
  • Monitor English Learner tutor effectiveness.
  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise teaching and support staff.
  • Observe and evaluate staff performance, provide remediation for low performance, document employee issues, and refer corrective action to the appropriate leader.
  • Conduct formal end-of-year evaluations for special-area, Junior High, and instructional support staff.
  • Travel between campuses and perform local and in-state travel as required.
