Purpose and Scope:
Amentum is currently searching for a Civil Engineer 2 to work in our Englewood, CO office to perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operations, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis, or review team.
Essential Responsibilities:
1.Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas under some supervision.
2.Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review.
3.Generate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projects.
4.Prepare, deliver and submit technical presentations for in process design and review meetings.
5.Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
6.Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
7.Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
8.Conduct site visits and investigate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
9.Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
10.Performs engineering modeling, analysis, and design assignments of moderate complexity.
11.Prepares calculations, analyses, studies, specifications, reports, and other technical documents.
12.Reviews other discipline drawings and vendor drawings.
13.Performs discipline Material Take Off (MTO) activities using manual methods and computer applications.
Minimum Requirements:
- US Citizen
- 5+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree; 3+ years of relevant experience with Masters degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent education).
- At least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent
- Passed Fundament of Engineering (FE) Exam
- Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.
-Good oral and written communication skills.
-Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Position may require travel.
-In-depth knowledge using AutoCAD with Civil 3D.
-Working knowledge of regulatory codes and standards.
-Working knowledge with commercially available hydraulic and hydrology software.
-Working knowledge designing site drainage and storm water control systems.
-Working knowledge of the design of underground utilities.
-Working knowledge and expertise in Excel, and Word.
-Ability to prepare various civil engineering calculations and drawings.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Professional Engineering Registration.
- Master of Science degree in civil engineering.
- Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.
Compensation & Benefits
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85K - $110K annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
