  • Proven success selling into government or similarly complex, request-for-proposal-driven environments involving multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding quota and owning a measurable revenue goal.
  • Ability to prospect, qualify, and prioritize opportunities in a defined territory or segment, manage a book of business through closing, and facilitate appropriate handoffs to implementation or account management teams.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills tailored to technical, financial, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to move deals forward.
  • Initiative and self-management, including working independently, owning a pipeline, and proactively identifying next steps.
  • Experience using a customer relationship management system, preferably Salesforce, to manage opportunities, forecast revenue, and maintain data hygiene.
  • Ability to learn new products, processes, and sales tools and quickly understand and explain complex software solutions.
  • Preferably based in the Midwest or Southwest United States, with the ability to support a territory involving in-person client meetings and events.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex, full-cycle business-to-government sales from initial outreach and discovery through request-for-proposal or request-for-information response, demonstrations, proposal development, contracting, and handoff to implementation teams.
  • Develop relationships with elected officials, treasurers, tax collectors, chief information officers and information technology leaders, and finance and operations leaders, becoming a trusted advisor on the company's solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate request-for-proposal and procurement processes with Product, Legal, Finance, and subject matter experts to create compliant responses and presentations.
  • Meet or exceed quota by managing a pipeline with clear next steps, accurate forecasting, and disciplined follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Product, Implementation, Client Support, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to shape account strategies, refine messaging, and ensure a smooth transition from sale to implementation.
  • Represent the company at conferences and industry events through in-person meetings, presentations, and demonstrations that build awareness and generate opportunities.
  • Share field insights about client needs, competitive dynamics, and best practices to improve products and sales processes.
  • Help shape the Sales organization's go-to-market approach, deal structure, and growth with government clients.

What believers are saying

  • Los Angeles County selected TaxSys in May 2026 for nearly 10 million taxpayers.
  • Leon, DeKalb, Cobb, Sarasota, and Alameda launched new deployments in 2026.
  • Alachua County reported over $2.5 million staffing savings after replacing legacy vendors.

What critics are saying

  • Los Angeles County implementation is multi-year; any failure damages credibility and renewals.
  • Tyler Technologies and PayIt pressure TaxSys deals, especially where finance systems already exist.
  • Government procurement concentration creates existential risk if Florida county renewals slow in 2027.

What makes Grant Street Group unique

  • TaxSys handles billing, collections, distribution, and delinquency workflows for counties.
  • PaymentExpress unifies online, phone, and in-person payments across complex public agencies.
  • Twenty years of TaxSys use across 35 Florida and California counties proves stickiness.
