Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience

  • Experience in preclinical malaria mouse challenge models, mosquito dissection, IVIS in vivo imaging, flow cytometry, microscopy, protein purification, ELISA, ELISPOT
  • Strict adherence to safety standards and lab policies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic skills in applicable computer programs
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail

Responsibilities
  • Manage in vivo rodent research within the Malaria Insectary Facility
  • Perform various procedures and techniques including Plasmodium sporozoite dissection, molecular cloning, PCR, cell culture, flow cytometry
  • Expand and maintain mosquito cultures, monitor infection status, conduct malaria challenge experiments in rodents
  • Conduct pre-clinical evaluation for malaria vaccines and monoclonal antibodies, develop methods to evaluate protective effects
  • Design rodent malaria layouts, execute experiments within quality standards and timelines
  • Participate in meetings, collect, analyze, interpret, and report data, maintain inventory, perform routine maintenance
