We are seeking smart, motivated, and curious folks to join a new reporting team at WEX. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with top notch SQL skills, who wants to work with our systems engineers and developers to expand our reporting and analytical capabilities. This team will expand our suite of analytical client reports, improve existing reports, and analyze trading data in search of potential improvements and opportunities for automation. You will gain behind the scenes knowledge of how the financial industry works – finance background is not required and educational training with be provided. Our team of professionals will provide you with an environment that encourages you to flex your creative thinking abilities through discussion, allow you to obtain quick feedback, and give you the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain and optimize standardized reports as part of the WEX reports suite offered to clients
- Create new daily/monthly reports based on industry regulatory requirements
- Create ad-hoc data analytical and statistical research queries, with the goals of providing visibility into current system use, configuration, and to resolve problems
- Work with trading system developers to improve data infrastructure
- Analyze existing data for business insights
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of training, certifications, or work experience
- 1+ years of work experience preferred
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex scripts and queries, familiarity with query optimization techniques
- Proficiency in Python, Lua or similar scripting language
- Experience with ETL automation software a plus
- Experience with financial markets a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to collaborate and learn from other team members
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to translate complex data into useful information
