Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 5 years of electrical experience and/or quality experience are required.
  • Ability to travel 0–10% based on company need is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, including possible nights, weekends, and holidays based on customer demands, is required.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections of conduit layouts, lighting systems, control systems, feeders, and manufactured-product installations is required.
  • Ability to review drawings, submittals, specifications, and other construction documents to identify potential quality issues is required.
  • Ability to analyze startup and commissioning schedules and anticipate equipment installation standards, checklist procedures, and training needs is required.
  • Ability to complete overall quality inspections for projects of limited scope and size is required.
  • Knowledge of job-site safety requirements, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, and customer-specific safety standards is required.
  • Ability to use effective problem-solving techniques in customer interactions is required.
  • Ability to provide valid statistical information and analyses concerning on-site quality, commissioning, and startup procedures and schedules is required.
  • Ability to plan, complete, and implement assignments and responsibilities in a timely manner is required.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, influence effectively, and communicate work definitions, objectives, tasks, needs, and expectations is required.
  • Ability to assist with data collection for short-circuit arc-flash studies is required.
  • Ability to promote 5S manufacturing and participate in process improvements is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement the Quality Control Plan and provide manufacturing quality-auditing services.
  • Conduct quality inspections of conduit layouts, lighting systems, control systems, feeders, and manufactured-product installations.
  • Review construction documents, including drawings, submittals, and specifications, to identify potential quality issues.
  • Analyze startup and commissioning schedules and upcoming tasks, and anticipate equipment installation standards, checklist procedures, and training needs.
  • Complete overall quality inspections for projects of limited scope and size.
  • Lead small crews of two to five electricians when assigned.
  • Perform job-site safety checks and maintain compliance with company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, and customer-specific safety standards.
  • Participate in internal and external cross-functional teams to develop and refine organizational processes related to job-site quality and commissioning.
  • Provide statistical information and analyses to the commissioning foreman regarding on-site quality, commissioning, and startup procedures and schedules.
  • Provide guidance to employees, project supervisors, and management on on-site quality and commissioning matters.
  • Conduct job-site coaching and employee development related to audits, novel work, or jobs in crisis.
  • Perform Project Expectations Reviews with project leadership and provide feedback and recommended corrective actions to project managers, work crews, management leadership, and support functions.
  • Develop relationships with leaders, direct reports, and others that facilitate open dialogue and trust.
  • Define work, communicate objectives and tasks, delegate tasks, monitor individual and team work, coach and motivate direct reports or appropriate individuals, remove barriers, and provide feedback and resources.
  • Assist in data collection for short-circuit arc-flash studies.
  • Promote 5S manufacturing during production quality improvements.
  • Participate in process improvements and drive efficiencies into the quality process.
  • Participate in the company's hiring referral and mentoring program as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
