Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and capable of implementing emergency procedures and disaster plans.
  • Must be able to administer CPR and Naloxone (Narcan).
  • Must maintain active CPR certification at all times.
  • Must obtain criminal records clearance through the State Mental Health Division before starting employment.
  • Must pass a background check for eligibility to work within a Licensed Child Caring Agency.
  • Must be able to support activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living without extensive hands-on needs for bathing, toileting, and similar tasks in Youth Services.
  • Must be able to engage with youth through shared interests, hobbies, language, and experiences.
  • Must maintain appropriate boundaries with transition-aged youth.
  • Must understand and follow applicable Oregon Administrative Rules, Oregon Revised Statutes, and federal and state laws related to minors in Child Welfare care.
  • Must be comfortable working independently.
  • Must fulfill onboarding requirements and required training within New Narrative timelines.
  • Must follow agency policies, procedures, and protocols and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must adhere to scheduling and attendance policies and not work more than 40 hours per week unless authorized by a supervisor.
Responsibilities
  • Actively engage residents to support progress toward goals and transition planning using strength-based and person-centered approaches.
  • Center resident experiences, autonomy, and personal rights.
  • Participate in Team Based Care, staff meetings, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide hands-on support with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, including appointments, household tasks, hygiene, continence, bathing, toileting, dressing, eating, and medication management.
  • Assist with crisis intervention using nonviolent de-escalation techniques and support residents in navigating distress and conflict.
  • Follow medication management protocols and monitor changes in medication.
  • Prepare meals and provide opportunities for skills training.
  • Provide and facilitate group activities and community engagement.
  • Understand and comply with Oregon Administrative Rules governing home- and community-based mental health services.
  • Facilitate fire drills and emergency procedures as assigned or needed.
  • Complete safety and sanitation checklists twice monthly.
  • Maintain the health, safety, cleanliness, and orderly condition of residential houses, including food storage areas, common areas, and employee offices.
  • Complete assigned shift duties and communicate maintenance and supply needs.
  • Complete engagement notes, shift notes, electronic medication administration records, communication logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in resident charts at the end of each shift.
  • Complete incident reports by the end of each shift.
  • Update narcotic counts during each narcotic medication pass and complete shift-change documentation.
  • Remain awake and alert throughout each shift.
  • Complete tasks assigned by program leadership and attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Cover open shifts in Youth Services and, when necessary, in Licensed Residential programs.
  • Provide transportation as needed using a company or personal vehicle.
  • Remain available for at least five open shifts per month totaling 40 hours.
Desired Qualifications
  • QMHA credentials are preferred.
  • Current CPR certification is preferred.
