As a member of the Consumer Product Marketing team, you will get to be an advocate for all our users and have a leading role in defining market and product strategy for Discord, and shaping how our products are positioned globally. This is a crucial hire, and step one in building the Marketing team’s muscle as the “voice of the customer.” 

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to lead research and strategy for Discord’s consumer products. You will work closely with product leaders and cross-functional teams to influence product & marketing strategy decisions that align with Discord’s mission. You will report to the Group Product Marketing Manager, Strategy & Growth.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide sophisticated research and analysis on industry trends, user behaviors, and market opportunities to create data-driven cases for product investment decisions (build, buy, partner)
• Effectively present insights and recommendations to executives, product leaders, and cross-functional partners to influence Discord’s product roadmap
• Serve as a trusted advisor to product and marketing leaders, as well as strategy partners to drive long-term impact
• Collaborate with user research, analytics, product marketing, partnership teams, external research partners etc. to source and develop insights and recommendations
• Partner with finance, legal, privacy, and communications teams to ensure recommendations are robust and address relevant considerations

What you should have

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, analytics, engineering, or related quantitative field
• 5+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, finance, business operations, corporate strategy, investment banking, or partnerships
• 2+ years of experience leading strategy projects at a consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy team
• Proficiency in analytics and modeling, including Advanced Excel (can perform complex functions)  and PowerPoint skills and basic SQL querying knowledge 
• Demonstrated experience structuring and solving complex product problems
• Demonstrated experience presenting to leadership and influencing product decisions
• Experience in social media and communication apps or entertainment and video products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000 to $191,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
