JOB TITLE:
Assistant Librarian - Law Library
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide legal research support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, members of the bar, and the public
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide legal research support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, members of the bar, and the public; create, promote, and evaluate innovative library services and instructional materials; instruct the first-year legal research course; present topical legal research presentations to law school and university classes and student groups; engage in research and scholarship relevant to librarianship, legal education, substantive legal subjects, or other academic disciplines; train and supervise law student library assistants and other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited institution; or Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited institution
- At least two years of legal research experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Record of service in a library environment
- Proven interest in or experience with teaching and instructional support
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise
- Evidence of technical competency
