Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A valid State of Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Applicable departmental certification requirements must be met.
  • Two years of related experience are required.
  • The candidate must be able to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • The candidate must be proficient in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver medical care to a wide variety of patients.
  • Examine and treat patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals.
  • Provide illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery services.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests.
  • Advise patients about continuing care.
  • Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
  • Perform age-appropriate histories and physical examinations independently.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients' age-specific needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implement interventions to help patients regain or maintain physiologic stability.
  • Provide care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Facilitate patients' transitions within and between health care settings, including admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
