SUMMARY:
This position works on a team and is responsible for marketing new business accounts and carrier placement strategy. This role negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carrier partners, maintains knowledge of markets necessary to place business and explores new markets for the agency and assists with the carrier selection process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages placement of new and renewal, large commercial lines business ** Marine/Oil & Gas Experience preferred **
- Obtains necessary information from producers, account executives and account managers for submissions
- Obtains quotes and conducts negotiations with carriers
- Prepares proposals and presentations for producers and account executives to present to clients
- Provides expertise to agency staff concerning markets and specific accounts
- Maintains carrier relationships, explores new markets, and assists in evaluation of carrier relationships and introduction of new carriers
- Works closely with producers, account executives, account managers, and other members of the marketing team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of commercial insurance experience
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal English communications skills
- Ability or adaptability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Knowledge of agency management systems (Epic experience a plus)
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
EDUCATION, LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management and Insurance, Accounting, or Finance preferred but not required
- Property & Casualty License or willingness to obtain license upon hire
