- Minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalency
- EKG Technician, Cardiology Technician, Exercise Physiologist, who have had the following: a. Cardiology Stress Testing, EKG, Holter & Event Testing b. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). c. Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- Capable of using Information Systems, e.g. Meditech, McKession
- Explains procedure to patient prior to testing.
- Assists in gathering patient assessment data for physician review.
- Assures adequate equipment and supplies for testing.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Assists in monitoring patient EKG and vital signs during stress test and recovery period.
- Assists in initiating emergency measures as required.
- Performs EKGs, places holter and event monitors.
- Connects patients to stress testing equipment.
- Gathers patient history & lab values prior to testing for the cardiologist.
- Participates in process improvement.
- Communicates interdepartmentally and house-wide as needed.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
