Requirements
  • earned research doctorate in a public health-related field or Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) before the employment start date
  • Master of Public Health degree from a school or program of public health accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health if not holding a Doctor of Public Health
  • strong potential for or record of academic scholarship as demonstrated by research publications and ability to secure extramural research funding
  • commitment to and potential for teaching excellence in areas related to public health, community health, or health education/promotion or a record of successful college or university teaching
  • potential for or history of active service participation and/or leadership roles in campus, community, and professional organizations
  • the ability to work collegially and effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • possession of the CHES or MCHES certification and experience with acquiring and maintaining CEPH accreditation are highly desirable
Responsibilities
  • teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to public health
  • advise undergraduate students
  • mentor master's and doctoral students
  • engage in scholarly research, including publishing research and applying for external research funding
  • engage in multidisciplinary collaborations
  • participate in service activities within the department, college, university, and profession
Desired Qualifications
  • CHES certification or MCHES certification (highly desirable)
  • experience with acquiring and maintaining CEPH accreditation (highly desirable)
  • focused and documented research interest in rural health, community health, chronic disease prevention, health equity, physical activity, or nutrition (preferred)
  • strong interdisciplinary and collaborative research record (preferred)
  • experience working in a multicultural setting (preferred)
