Job Description

As a Journeyperson Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies.    

What you will be doing:   

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  

• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service  
• Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards 
• Responsible for all HVAC related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge 
• Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all HVAC equipment 
• Preventative maintenance of equipment pertaining to HVAC 
• Ensure all work done in the HVAC department is in compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations 
• Ensure all power tools are in good and safe working conditions 
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business   
• Train and assist the shift maintenance colleagues  
• Assist other trades as they relate to HVAC maintenance 
• Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues 
• Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles

• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include: 

• Provincial Journeyperson Certificate issued by the Province of Alberta or Red Seal Endorsement is required. 
• Maintenance experience of HVAC equipment is required. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & Power Point) 
• Gas Fitting Ticket an asset 
• Pneumatic controls experience an asset 
• Valid Alberta driver’s license required      
• Excellent communication and organizational skills 
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities 
• Highly responsible & reliable 
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision 
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times 
• Candidates that possess a Provincial Journeyperson Certificate issued by the Province of Alberta in a related trade, defined by Apprenticeship and Industry Training, will be considered for apprenticeship opportunities 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
