Build the programs to help Flexport grow
At Flexport, our Reporting & Analytics team (R&A) is part of the Enterprise & 4PL organization whose goal is to provide a world-class product that helps our thousands of enterprise clients book, manage and analyze their global supply chain shipments.
The opportunity:
Our mission in R&A is to serve clients with their supply chain data via reports that help them more effectively analyze and understand their complex data, enabling them to drastically improve their overall supply chain performance. We are changing the game for global enterprise companies who have historically not had the tools to view, analyze and manage their data in one centralized tool.
Our team owns an and-to-end system that consists of data ingestion, data storage, data query engine, customizable reporting UI and data visualization. As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will join a diverse and highly technical group of full-stack engineers in our San Fran office to help develop impactful and quality products in a very fast-growing business. By joining us, you will have full autonomy to design systems using in-house solutions or AWS products. To achieve success in your role, you will collaborate across teams, including enterprise account managers, to deliver an impactful business product to our clients.
You will:
- drive impact through building a technically sound system with high sensitivity to data changes, self-validation of data quality, fast querying latency
- design & build a data ingestion system that consumes and then stores multiple teams’ data sets
- drive impact by building an intuitive analytical product to solve real-world supply chain problems
- collaborate across 10+ engineering teams to hold a high bar of supply chain data accuracy and performance
- optimize a client-facing product’s performance from every aspect (initial server loading, CDN loading, GraphQL loading)
You should have:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including “design through ship”
- Full stack experience (with strength in backend)
- Demonstrated experience using various AWS products (e.g. Redshift, Aurora, Kinesis, ElasticSearch, Gateway, etc)
- Experience with data warehouse databases (e.g. Snowflakes)
- Experience with databases (MongoDB, postgres, SQL, NoSQL, etc.)
- A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry
It’s a plus if you have:
- Worked on data platforms that serve consumer/business and support internal domain teams at the same time
- Worked on domains with intensive amounts of data processing, storage, and serving
- Domain modeling design & architecture
- Experience with reporting system
- Effectively drive cross-team technical collaboration, communication and alignment
