Requirements
  • The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited radiography or radiology program and must be in at least the second semester of clinicals.
  • No prior experience is required.
  • The candidate must hold Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • The candidate must follow radiation protection and safety standards.
  • The candidate must be able to perform the stated physical requirements, including constant standing and walking, frequent patient lifting and movement, and occasional lifting of objects weighing 25–50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors under direct supervision.
  • Prepare for and assist supervising technologists and physicians with a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Position patients and accurately select anatomic and technical parameters.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other department areas.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
