Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in career services, human resources, recruiting, or a related field.
  • Experience successfully supervising professional staff.
  • A strong history of working with undergraduate students around career development.
  • A desire to be part of a large and collaborative team.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic vision for undergraduate career services and align it with the broader Marshall Career Services, Marshall School of Business, and University of Southern California vision, mission, and goals.
  • Continually evolve the undergraduate career services program by setting and achieving annual goals, monitoring student and employer trends, and advocating for student success.
  • Strategically deploy resources to integrate career services throughout the student experience, including classrooms, student clubs, and orientation, and work with others to scale the team's reach and impact.
  • Directly supervise two senior associate directors and lead at least eight professional employees, resource employees, and student employees, including supervision, hiring, training, and evaluation.
  • Engage the undergraduate career services team in collaborative decision-making and strategic planning, and support team members' professional development and independent work.
  • Oversee the annual undergraduate career services budget of more than $350,000, including funding from multiple sources, and grow self-generated revenue.
  • Manage income, self-generated revenue, foundation accounts, and reserve accounts to maintain financial balance and the organization's long-term health.
  • Assess the impact of artificial intelligence on students' and the team's experience and make strategic decisions about adopting or eliminating vendor and software options.
  • Expand relationships with employers and increase students' access to internship and full-time opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of the changing employment landscape for international students, expand relationships with companies hiring students regardless of work authorization, and expand access to employment opportunities abroad.
  • Monitor internship and full-time career outcomes for all undergraduate students and implement solutions to maintain strong outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with students, maintain relationships with student clubs and their leaders, attend events, support conflict resolution, and serve as an exceptional supervisor.
  • Liaise with staff, faculty, donors, parents, Athletics, career services in other schools, the central Career Center, and other university offices.
  • Serve on the Marshall Career Services leadership team and support strategic planning, overall team leadership, university-wide collaborations, significant projects, and positive team leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
