Requirements
  • An active or current Secret security clearance is required.
  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical or professional discipline, including five years in the Department of Defense, is required; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a related field and twelve years of experience, including five years in the Department of Defense, is required; or fifteen years of directly related experience with the proper certifications, including eight years in the Department of Defense, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and support the needs of fielded aircraft, training devices, support equipment, and software products by managing maintenance, repair, and overhaul of air vehicles and subsystems through organic activities or selection of product support providers.
  • Support air vehicle operations as the link between onshore and offshore field locations, depots, Lightning Support Teams, and original equipment manufacturers by providing assistance, technical support, instructions, and demonstrations.
  • Support fielding and bed-down actions for site activations and deployments, and assess the effects of fleet demand, personnel levels, and operational tempo.
  • Provide focused metrics to drive Air Vehicle Operations Integrated Product Team decision-making and performance.
  • Provide fifth-generation fighter logistics information technology system analytical capability for air vehicle configuration and metrics monitoring.
  • Support logistics operations subsystem capability and planning as an additional attribute of the Air Vehicle Operations Integrated Product Team competency.
  • Continually assess fleet demand, available personnel levels, and operational tempo to support management of support operations and continuous process improvement plans.
  • Determine optimal depot capacity and existing and future contracts for specific capacity and capabilities, and forecast depot demand requirements to size depot capacity.
  • Support management of Modification War Room processes to plan capacity and schedule modifications.
  • Develop and provide oversight of the management plan for maintenance induction activities, including work scope, planned disassembly level, retrofits and redesign, induction forecasts, and fleet-wide induction scheduling.
  • Monitor modification retrofit schedules and ensure aircraft movement coordination with the warfighter is executed.
  • Assist with developing the management plan for depot-level maintenance, repair, and overhaul of air vehicles, propulsion systems, and support equipment.
  • Provide management and oversight planning for testing, inspection, and development in accordance with Lead the Fleet schedules and completion requirements.
  • Assist with maintenance and depot-level maintenance scheduling and plans within aircraft Maintenance Divisions.
  • Provide management and oversight of the planning and execution process for contracting commercial maintenance activities.
  • Assist in ensuring the maintenance-related Action Request handling, disposition, and resolution process is effective, including required coordination.
