Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration in good standing.
Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for building projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
  • Prepare calculations (power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop) and design documentation (one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications).
  • Coordinate with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
  • Manage electrical design budgets and direct work on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Assist in proposal development under senior engineer guidance.
  • Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify non-compliant conditions.
  • Create internal training presentations on electrical design topics.
  • Use BIM platforms and Microsoft Office to execute work.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts and drive overall project quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers.
  • Participate in professional development activities and client meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a design firm environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE).
  • Strong coordination skills across disciplines and with construction partners.
  • Ability to perform intermediate-level design calculations with limited supervision.
  • Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Willingness to travel for client development, project execution, and training.
