Requirements
  • Experience providing telephone-based technical support and/or desk-side technical support.
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical staff.
  • Strong knowledge of personal computer systems and Mac systems, including desktop and laptop computers, wireless devices, and printer hardware.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices or Mobile Device Management platforms such as Intune.
  • Experience entering and tracking tickets in an incident management system such as ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Understanding of the basic use of Command Prompt and PowerShell.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wireless handheld devices, including Android, iPhone, and iPad devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot remote technologies, including Remote Desktop Protocol, Virtual Private Network, F5, and GlobalProtect.
  • Strong adherence to information technology compliance procedures and documentation standards.
  • An associate degree in a computer-related discipline is required; equivalent technical experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
  • One to three years of experience in a technical environment.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11, Office 2016 and Office 365, iManage, iWorks, Payne, Litera, and other legal-specific applications.
  • Ability to safely lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for telephone and email inquiries regarding the Firm’s software, hardware, and remote technologies directed to the Information Technology department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, operating system, and networking problems; repair and recover from hardware or software failures, virus infections, and other issues; and document resolutions on incident tickets.
  • Ensure timely updates and follow up on all open ticket-related inquiries and effectively manage escalated calls routed to interdepartmental teams.
  • Provide onsite desktop support, ensuring timely and effective resolution of users’ issues and technical needs.
  • Provide occasional home-visit support for attorneys in the Firm.
  • Respond to occasional after-hours or emergency support requests as needed.
  • Image, test, install, and maintain end-user information technology equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, electronic devices, associated software, and peripherals.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inventory, and security measures associated with the Firm’s inventory.
  • Stay current with emerging technological developments in software, hardware, systems and application support, and management and user support practices.
  • Participate in publications, mailing lists, online communities, conferences, and workshops to stay current with technological developments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol technology telephone systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Audio/Visual systems is a plus.
  • Prior law firm experience is a plus.
  • MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows certification is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.
  • PowerPoint or Access certification and Network+ certification are preferred.
  • HDI HelpDesk Analyst Certification is preferred.
