Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or a quoting role is required.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset with mechanical or technical aptitude is required.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes or willingness to learn them is required.
  • Experience with customer relationship management or enterprise resource planning systems and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly are required.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
Responsibilities
  • Review customer requests for quotation, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate and competitive quotes.
  • Interpret technical requirements and collaborate with engineering and production to ensure feasibility.
  • Recommend product solutions, materials, and configurations based on customer needs.
  • Support pricing strategy by understanding labor, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Follow up on quotes to drive conversion and revenue growth.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customers, providing commercial and technical support.
  • Manage inbound and outbound communications to identify needs and generate opportunities.
  • Communicate lead times, order status, and technical clarifications clearly and proactively.
  • Build customer relationships through responsiveness and problem-solving.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, production, and purchasing teams to align on customer requirements.
  • Support resolution of technical questions, discrepancies, and quality concerns.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are documented and communicated internally.
  • Build knowledge of cable assemblies, interconnect systems, and applicable industry standards, including IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quoting accuracy, turnaround time, and customer experience.
  • Participate in ongoing training to strengthen technical and sales capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of quotes, orders, and customer interactions in customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Support reporting, forecasting, and pipeline tracking as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace or defense, or technical sales.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, bills of materials, or specifications.
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field.
