Position Summary
Morgan Stanley’s Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO) provides portfolio management to clients of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. OCIO partners with Morgan Stanley Advisors and Consultants, across all client channels, to offer portfolio management services to both institutional and individual clientele (e.g. Foundations, Endowments, Retirement Plans, UHNW Individuals, and Family Offices).
The Head of Strategy for OCIO has pivotal role leading a team responsible for defining strategic priorities for the business by identifying areas to improve business growth and/or efficiency, by assessing industry trends and competitive landscape, and by identifying strategic fit of initiatives with broader Wealth Management business priorities. The team is responsible for both devising strategies as well as driving implementation of the prioritized strategic projects in partnership with key stakeholders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and drive strategic priorities for OCIO based on deep understanding of market trends, business performance, and competitive landscape
Lead strategic projects end-to-end from idea generation to successful implementation
Forge strong partnership with business leaders across the business and the Firm more broadly to drive successful launch of strategic projects
Develop executive presentations and lead strategy discussions with senior stakeholders
Manage strategic dashboard of key performance metrics and provide senior management with fact-based recommendations for business improvement
Develop strong strategy team capable on taking on leadership roles for specific projects
Qualifications:
8+ years of professional experience in strategy, either in management consulting or within internal strategy teams, ideally within wealth management or related financial services
Distinctive quantitative and qualitative analytical skills applied to problem solving of complex issues
Self-motivated and autonomous, with strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to forge partnerships with senior stakeholders and work collaboratively at all levels within the organization
Strong project and time management skills; ability to lead cross functional work efforts
Excellent executive communication skills
Bachelor’s degree required

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $180,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
