Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant hands-on work with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
  • Proficiency in the Python programming language.
  • Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Strong experience with version control systems like Git, and familiarity with modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build scalable, highly available cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications with a focus on high performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to define and translate technical requirements into effective software solutions.
  • Champion and drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code practices, leveraging tools such as Terraform and Spacelift to ensure consistent and automated provisioning of cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership during code reviews, enforce best practices, and uphold high standards for code quality, maintainability, and security.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth and enabling them to contribute effectively to team goals.
  • Lead efforts to create and improve technical documentation while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with security engineers to define and implement robust security strategies, ensuring systems meet compliance and best practices.
  • Own and resolve high-priority technical issues as part of the Level 2 Support rotation, ensuring a swift and efficient resolution while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing tools, systems, and workflows and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and implement these enhancements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog) for maintaining system performance and debugging complex issues.
  • Professional experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
  • Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code utilities such as Spacelift, Terragrunt, or similar tools.

Anacostia Rail Holdings appoints Aimee Nolan as Chief Legal Officer. Anacostia Rail Holdings (ARH) has appointed Aimee Nolan as Chief Legal Officer, effective immediately. She joins the executive leadership team and will oversee legal, compliance, governance, and risk functions as the company continues to grow. Nolan succeeds Mark Sidman, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, who will retire on March 31, 2026, after more than ten years with ARH. Since joining the company in 2013, Sidman played a key role in supporting long-term growth and strengthening governance and integrity across the organisation. Nolan joins ARH from Zoro Tools, Inc., a subsidiary of W.W. Grainger, Inc., where she served as General Counsel and executive leadership team member.
